A group of cash-strapped students have come up with a series of ingenious ways to solve their DIY dilemmas - and have shared the results online.
Solutions range from baking a pizza with an iron and a hairdryer to showering using a 7Up bottle as a shower head and have been shared on boredpanda.com.
More inventive ideas include using a shopping trolley in place of a barbecue grill, flipping a stool upside down to create a makeshift dustbin and stuffing an entire chair into the seat of an armchair to replace a cushion.
The novel pizza oven, which combines an iron and hair dryer, was submitted to the site by Wyofil, who added the caption: 'Sorry we do not have a microwave available to guests'.
Another shows a novel pizza cutter made using the lid from a tin can and a ruler, although the idea was ridiculed by some, with one student, Cassie Williams, telling the inventor to 'just use scissors'.
A further post, submitted by Shotsfiredyo, shows a novel way to hide holey socks by painting toe nails with a black marker pen.
'I'm not buying socks for another five years,' the accompanying post read.
But not having any dough needn't mean missing out on using the finest glassware - even if is made made from plastic.
'As a student with no money I give you my new cups,' reads one post, which showcases a wine glass, tumbler and cocktail glass made out of empty drinks bottles.
Similarly inventive is another student's alternative to pots and pans - a coffee machine.
'Quick and easy way to make noodles for all you college students ,' reads the post by user Will_evans10199.
Also making an appearance is a shower curtain installed using clothes hangers and a pair of speakers fashioned from two empty milk bottles.
They may be lacking cash, but these students certainly make up for it in creativity.
