The socialite ex-wife of a Manhattan hedge fund boss allegedly fantasized on Facebook about skinning his current spouse alive.
Nirit Resnick Varenbut, 39, of New York, was accused of telling her former husband Josh Resnick that she wanted to make ‘wallpaper’ out of his new wife – food writer Danyelle Freeman, 41.
According to court documents, Varenbut, who was married to Resnick for a decade, wrote a post on his second wife’s Facebook page, telling him: ‘I want you to hurt, hurt, hurt.’
She added: ‘I
want to be the one who skins her alive. I can make wallpaper out of her.’
Sources told the New York Post that Varenbut had rented a house in the Hamptons over the summer in order to spy on the couple, who have a home in East Hampton.
East Hampton Town Justic Lisa Rana sentenced Varenbut to three years’ probation last week after she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal contempt.
Freeman, who was chief restaurant critic at the New York Daily News until 2010 after the success of her Restaurant Girl blog, and her husband took out orders of protection against Varenbut in Manhattan Supreme Court and in East Hamptoon last year.
They prohibit Varenbut from posting comments about Resnick or his family on any social network.
But according to court documents, Varenbut took to Facebook last month to abuse Freeman after she posted a picture with Varenbut’s son.
‘Josh Resnick married someone more evil than even himself,’ she wrote.
Varenbut, who has been accused multiple times with stalking her ex-husband, his current wife and their children, also appeared in court in East Hampton in August last year for allegedly violating the order of protection, the East Hampton Star reported.
Police picked her up at her summer rental in Montauk after she allegedly posted multiple messages about Resnick, Freeman and their children on Facebook.
Resnick and Freeman’s lawyer Robert Gottlieb said the family had been victimized ‘over and over again’.
He said: ‘They have been forced to live in a constant state of fear of physical harm to their children and themselves.’
Varenbut had one child with Resnick, a managing partner at Jericho Capital, before their ten-year relationship ended in 2012.
But Resnick and Freeman reportedly also have custody of the son along with their own two children, the Post reported.
